It’s almost time to dive into the refreshing beach waters of the ocean and sun tan under the hot summer sun. Finding the most flattering swimwear shouldn’t be so difficult but instead be a fun experience. Different swimsuit styles can fit different body types and certain colors can match certain skin tones as fashion has always said. However, I have always said to experiment because it helps develop your personal style and taste.
There is swimwear for everyone from modest swimsuits to something more bold. The different styles range from bikinis to rash guards. I have to be honest, researching this topic has shown me that there were styles I didn’t know existed.
For the girls who aren’t comfortable with wearing so little to the beach, there are plenty of other options. For example, some of us would rather wear something more fun and flirty while some of us would wear something more sporty. There is a swimsuit style for all tastes and preferences. My favorite type of swimsuit to wear is a one-piece or a rashguard. I hardly like to wear a two-piece unless I wear a cover-up on top the whole time. I feel the most comfortable wearing more than I do with wearing less so I tend to go towards styles that make me feel confident in my own skin.
With that being said, here are all the most flattering swimwear styles to wear to the beach!
Flattering Swimwear
Two Piece Swimwear
The two-piece swimsuit is the most popular style, making it easy to find everywhere this summer. There are many styles of two-piece swimsuits like halter tops, one-shoulder, razor back, strapless, etc. However, finding the most flattering pieces is not only in the details but also in concealing our problem areas. If your problem area is your back choose something that offers the right support. A thick razor back can offer that back support or a fully covered back top piece can also make you look amazing.

Tankini
The tankini are interesting because instead of it being one piece it’s two pieces but the top piece is an entire top. The tankini is great to mix and match with different bottoms and tops. I love the versatility of the tankini and its resemblance to a top.
I would also recommend adding some accessories like necklaces or bracelets to make your summer beach outfit look amazing. Besides, these types of swimsuits look so nice on trips to Cabo or any other Mexican beach vacation. You can also add a sarong which is a wrap that goes around the hips or waist.

One-Piece Swimwear
One-piece swimsuits have always been my favorite type of swimwear. The one-piece swimsuit is far more feminine and chic than any other type of swimsuit style. In addition, choosing beautiful detailing like ruffles, and bows, or even choosing swimsuits with unique cuts around the waist works well for any body type. I will always advocate for the one-piece swimsuit style the most because it makes everyone look amazing!

Swimdress
The swimdress is a very unique swimsuit. I have to be honest and say this was the first time I ran into something like this. I didn’t know the swim dress existed. It’s a flattering swimwear design because it looks like a real dress! The swim dress is great for almost all body types and they look very comfortable too.
If you have a smaller chest, a strapless swim dress is a great option. If your problem area is your tummy then any pleated material or vertical lines like an a-line swim dress are perfect for you. Another problem area for some people is having thick thighs. Therefore, adding a swim dress to your wardrobe would help conceal any problem areas on the upper thighs and also make you feel far more confident.

High Waisted Bikinis
High-waisted bikinis work so well for those problem areas around the tummy. Any type of high-waisted bikini makes almost all body types look very flattering. You can choose a top that fits your preference like a razor back to look more sporty or one with ruffles and fancy accents to look more elegant. In addition, these bikinis not only provide tummy control but also define the waist, provide comfort, add versatility, and give vintage classy vibes.
Without a doubt, high-waisted bikinis are flattering swimwear but they are also functional enough to be used for high-impact activities or light swimming. This also has to do with the design of the swimsuit. If the swimsuit provides enough support to jump high, run, and deal with rough waters then it works great. On the other hand, it’s important to take note that some swimsuits are only made for light swimming or sunbathing by the shore.

Athletic Swimwear
Athletic swimwear is great for girls who love going to the beach to play volleyball or go surfing. These types of swimsuits are far more basic in terms of style but they provide great support. Likewise, they also provide the right coverage and durability in a swimsuit to outlast wear and tear. They contribute to the freedom of movement and are built with a special design to reduce the drag down of a swimmer and improve their swimming performance. Therefore, athletic swimwear offers better efficiency with its sleek design and also withstands the test of time. It’s a no-brainer that these are the best swimsuits for those who love doing high-impact sports at the beach.

Strapless Swimwear
Strapless swimwear is ideal for small-chested girls or petite girls. They are also great for those who want to minimize tan lines after going to the beach. These swimsuits are more on the minimalistic side and are great for those who don’t like to have too many details.
Strapless swimsuits are not made for everyone. For anyone with a larger chest, these might not be an ideal swimsuit to wear comfortably to the beach. Besides, they also aren’t made for individuals who love doing high-impact activities at the beach. If you’re this type of person make sure to look out for swimsuits that have straps and provide enough support.

Rash Guards
Rash guards are some of my favorite suits to wear to the beach. They never fail to make me look nice and they give me way more sun protection without needing to constantly reapply sunscreen. They help me stay warm if the water temperatures are too cold. They are comfortable because they are quick-drying, lightweight and breathable. You can also wear them with normal bikini bottoms or swim shorts.
They are great for any type of sport you play at the beach like volleyball, swimming, snorkeling, or surfing. They are also great for protecting the skin from getting scraped or injured. Additionally, these are great for high-impact activity beachgoers.

Modest Swimwear
Everyone’s views on modesty are different some of us consider modesty to be dressed from head to toe while others view it as wearing a one-piece swimsuit. I would say wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. I know that for me I have to be covered to some degree. I don’t feel comfortable wearing something too revealing. Modesty is a beautiful and elegant thing because you choose to reveal less but at the same time there is a sense of confidence or reasoning behind it. Similarly, it shows propriety and class when you dress up to go to a place like the beach.
These flattering swimwear pieces are both modest and also provide the best coverage and sun protection. Common features that are found in modest swimwear are long sleeves, high necklines, full-length bottoms, and loose-fit clothing. Furthermore, these swimsuit styles will vary and depend on the preferences and cultural or religious requirements.

Cover Ups
Cover-ups provide the additional coverage you need after getting out of the water or upon arriving at the beach. They are stylish and make your swimsuit outfit come together. The most common types of cover-ups are sarongs, tunics, caftans, kimonos, pareos, rash guards, or even a shirt dress. These pieces can be made of crocheted material while others are made of linen or cotton. These are great to wear on a boat ride or dining near the beach.
